Tirupati, 26 December (H.S.): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday said India’s emergence as a global power is unstoppable if its population, knowledge and talent are aligned with traditional values and national objectives.

Echoing the views of the RSS chief, Naidu said couples should ideally have three children to maintain population stability and strengthen the nation.

Speaking at the Bharatiya Vigyan Sammelan, the Chief Minister said India cannot be prevented from becoming a global power if its demographic strength and intellectual capital are guided by the country’s civilizational values and national priorities.

He praised the National Sanskrit University, established in 1961, for promoting Indian culture and providing a platform for discussions on Bharatiyata and the civilizational ethos with pride.

Highlighting India’s historical leadership in knowledge, Naidu referred to advanced urban planning in the Harappan civilisation over 4,500 years ago, the development of yoga nearly 2,900 years ago, and major medical contributions through Ayurveda around 2,600 years ago. He also cited the role of ancient centres of learning such as Takshashila and Nalanda in advancing astronomy, mathematics, medicine and economics.

The Chief Minister said the high per capita income of the Indian diaspora and India’s global dominance in Information Technology are major strategic advantages. He reiterated the vision of making India the world’s second-largest economy in the near future and the largest by 2047, building on the foundation laid by the 1991 economic reforms.

Naidu also strongly advocated the National River Linking Project, describing the Ganga–Cauvery project as a long-cherished national dream essential for ensuring water security. He called for greater inter-state cooperation to implement river-linking projects, stating that water security is a top priority for the Prime Minister.

He said achieving water security would unlock significant potential for agriculture, industry and overall national development, contributing to long-term economic growth and sustainability.
