Guwahati Police have arrested two persons in connection with a mobile phone snatching case in the city, officials said on Tuesday.
According to police, a team from Basistha Police Station acted on a complaint lodged on December 21 and apprehended two snatchers involved in multiple mobile snatching incidents. The arrested accused have been identified as Anwar Ahmed (22) and Nasir Ahmed (25).
During interrogation, the accused confessed to their involvement in the case and also admitted to carrying out several snatching incidents across Guwahati. Police recovered a stolen iPhone snatched from near the Nepali Mandir at Paltan Bazar, a Vivo mobile phone taken from near Bhutnath Bazar, an Oppo A59 5G handset, an HMO keypad mobile phone and a scooty (AS-01-GH-9429) used in the crime.
A case has been registered in connection with the incident and further legal proceedings are underway, police added.--------
