No
dearth of employment opportunities for youth after training, expanding
opportunities priority of government: Minister Kapil Dev Agarwal
Lucknow,
23 Dec (HS): Kapil Dev Agarwal, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for
Vocational Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, said in the
Legislative Council that after receiving training, there are immense employment
opportunities available for the youth and that when given good opportunities,
the youth naturally choose the better option; there is no restriction of any
kind in this. He said that the department does not work to bind the youth to
any one company, but rather, by coordinating with industries, strives to
provide them with maximum opportunities.
Minister
Agarwal stated that companies determine the length of employment on their own,
but the government's responsibility is not to restrict youth, but to equip them
with skills and lead them toward a better future. He explained that the
department holds regular meetings with various organizations, including
industry associations, industrial organizations, and major industrial groups
such as the IIA, FICCI, and CII. Through regular interactions in the state's
major industrial areas, including Noida, Kanpur, and Lucknow, youth are being
trained to meet the needs of industries.
Minister
Agarwal said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the
leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, investment conferences are held
to map the skills needed in each sector. Training programs are conducted based
on this, enabling youth to be directly connected to employment. He said that
the department only has data available related to youth engaged through
training and placement, while many youth are also employed in various
companies, institutions, and organizations through their own efforts.
Minister
Agarwal emphasized the importance of technical training, stating that youth
with technical skills have greater employment opportunities. Large-scale
training is being provided in areas such as the Jal Jeevan Mission, plumbing,
electrical engineering, automobiles, drones, solar, and electric vehicles,
creating continuous employment opportunities in both rural and urban areas. He
stated that in the past three years, approximately 8,000 youth have been sent
to Israel for employment, where they are earning between Rs. 1.5 lakh and Rs. 2.5
lakh per month. Additionally, with the support of the Tata Group, ITI
institutes have been equipped with state-of-the-art technology. At least two to
three ITI institutes in each district of the state have been developed with the
latest machinery and modern sheds. He stated that this transformation has been
made possible by an investment of approximately Rs. 7,000 crore through CSR
funds.
