Attempt to divide people on communal lines will not succeed in TN says Thirumavalavan

Chennai, 23 December (H.S.) : Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi leader Thol Thirumavalavan launched a scathing attack against the Bharatiya Janata Party and its ideological affiliates during a massive protest held at Palanganatham.

Addressing the gathering, the Member of Parliament asserted that the saffron party remains unwelcome in Tamil Nadu and would never gain a significant foothold in the state. He claimed that while the strategies used by the party might find success in northern states like Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, they would be rejected by the people of Tamil Nadu who have historically embraced inclusive and rational politics.

During his address, Thirumavalavan accused the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh of attempting to manufacture religious flashpoints to polarize voters, specifically referencing the recent communal politics surrounding the Tirupparankundram Deepam controversy.

The VCK leader further alleged that the launch of actor-politician Vijay’s new party was part of a calculated plan by the RSS to weaken Dravidian ideology and erode the legacy of Periyar and Ambedkar. He clarified that his decision to stay with the DMK alliance is based on ideological compatibility rather than electoral bargaining or personal ambition for power.

Thirumavalavan emphasized that safeguarding Dravidian values and social justice is his priority over the number of seats his party receives in elections. He dismissed critics who suggested the VCK should stand alone, stating that it is crucial to protect the Dravidian movement from communal forces rather than dividing it.

According to his statement, the alliance with the ruling party is a principled necessity to defeat those attempting to expand their presence in the state through divisive politics. He concluded by reiterating his commitment to this ideological front even if it causes political friction.
