New Delhi, 22 December (H.S.): Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan emphasized on Monday that collective efforts remain indispensable for forging an Atmanirbhar and Viksit Bharat, with the Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS) poised to play a pivotal role through efficient management of defence financial resources that directly bolsters national security capabilities.
Addressing trainee officers from the 2023 and 2024 IDAS batches, Radhakrishnan urged civil servants to infuse their professional conduct with knowledge alongside character, humility, and sensitivity, advocating 'seva bhaav' and duty consciousness as life's guiding mantra.
Serving India's 140 crore citizens constitutes both a profound fortune and immense responsibility, he remarked.
Uphold Integrity in Tech-Driven Era for Amrit Kaal Goals
Radhakrishnan lauded the Defence Accounts Department's over 275-year legacy as one of India's oldest government entities, underscoring civil servants' crucial contributions toward the 2047 Viksit Bharat vision amid Amrit Kaal's focus on inclusive growth reaching the last mile, where young officers' energy and innovation prove decisive.
Prudent financial stewardship sustains armed forces' operational readiness, he stressed, insisting on utmost standards of integrity, transparency, vigilance, and accountability in public fund management.
In the rapidly evolving technological landscape, continuous capacity building via platforms like iGOT Karmayogi merits effective utilization, fostering adaptation to modern tools, innovation, ethical governance, and empathetic approaches as hallmarks of civil servants on Viksit Bharat's journey.
The event saw attendance from Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh, Controller General of Defence Accounts Vishwajit Sahay, Financial Advisor (Defence Services) Raj Kumar Arora, and other senior officials.
