Guwahati, 22 December (HS): The Fatasil Ambari police, with assistance from Paltan Bazar police, have arrested two vehicle thieves and recovered a stolen scooty in Guwahati.

Police officials said on Monday that acting on a tip-off, a team from Fatasil Ambari police conducted an operation with support from Paltan Bazar police and recovered a stolen scooty bearing registration number AS-01EM-6710. During the operation, two accused involved in vehicle theft were apprehended.

The arrested persons have been identified as Shariful Ali (19) and Sujit Das (20), both residents of Jyotikuchi. According to police, the duo had stolen the scooter from the Jyotikuchi area earlier this month.

Based on a previously registered FIR in connection with the incident, both accused are being subjected to detailed interrogation to ascertain their involvement in other similar cases.---------------
