
Kaushambi,
19 Dec (HS): Following an encounter early Friday, police detained four people
in connection with a livestock theft case, authorities said. According to
Circle Officer Manjhanpur Shivank Singh, on December 18, Rahul Yadav, a
resident of Shamshabad village under Manjhanpur police station, stated that
three of his buffaloes had been taken by Firoz, Guddu, and Dilshad, inhabitants
of the Karari police station area in Kaushambi district. A police report was
filed in response to his allegation.
The
CO stated that on the intervening nights of December 18 and 19, police obtained
information that the accused engaged in the livestock theft were present near
Patauna bridge and planned to commit another offense. Acting on the tip, the
police arrived to the scene and detained Firoz, Guddu, and Dilshad at Patauna
Bridge.
During
interrogation, the apprehended suspects admitted to their involvement in
multiple cases of buffalo theft. They further said that another accomplice was
present on the Raghavapur Road near the police station. The officer stated that
when the police team conducted a raid at the given place, the accused, named as
Aryan alias Barati Lal, opened fire on the police after being encircled. In
retaliation, he was shot in the leg. He was found in possession of a country made
gun and a cartridge. The injured accused was brought to the district hospital
for treatment.
