Lucknow,
19 Dec (HS): On Friday, HSBC India opened its new branch in Lucknow. Following
the Reserve Bank of India's clearance earlier this year to build 20 new
branches, the Lucknow location becomes HSBC's 30th in India. This is
a key step in the bank's development plan and demonstrates its trust in Uttar
Pradesh's rapidly changing economic landscape.
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, top HSBC India officials,
and Akshaya Patra Foundation members all attended the opening ceremony. Welcoming
HSBC's expansion, the Deputy Chief Minister emphasized Uttar Pradesh's fast
development and rising appeal to international corporations, noting that the
state's economic stature and velocity underscore the growing need for global
financial institutions. Uttar Pradesh has emerged as India's major growth
engine, owing to large-scale infrastructure development, rising investment
inflows, and increased wealth generation.
Sandeep
Batra, Head, International Wealth and Premier Banking, HSBC India, stated that
given the state's strong economic growth and wealth creation, there is a rising
desire among domestic and global corporations, as well as individuals, to
establish and extend their presence here.
As India's largest international bank, we are devoted to assisting
our clients in accessing opportunities both in India and throughout the world,
as well as accomplishing their financial objectives. Our new Lucknow branch underscores
our commitment to providing world-class banking solutions closer to where our
customers need them, Batra said.
New
branches will be opened in Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Dehradun, Faridabad, Jalandhar,
Kanpur, Ludhiana, Mysuru, Nagpur, Nashik, Navi Mumbai, Patna, Rajkot, Surat,
Thiruvananthapuram, and Visakhapatnam. Brajesh Pathak, Uttar Pradesh's Deputy
Chief Minister, was also in attendance.
