New Delhi, 16 December (H.S.): President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the Param Vir Dirgha gallery at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday, coinciding with Vijay Diwas, to immortalize the legacy of India's 21 Param Vir Chakra recipients through evocative portraits.

The exhibition chronicles the indomitable courage and sacrificial valor of these national heroes, who exemplified unparalleled bravery in safeguarding the motherland, while inspiring visitors to reflect on their enduring contributions. Previously adorned with portraits of British aides-de-camp, the corridors now symbolize a decisive break from colonial legacies, embracing India's proud cultural heritage and martial traditions with renewed reverence.

As the nation's highest wartime gallantry award, the Param Vir Chakra recognizes supreme acts of selflessness amid conflict, ensuring these bravehearts' stories resonate across generations in the presidential precincts.
