

New Delhi/Amman,16 December (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi departed Jordan on Tuesday, lauding his visit as immensely productive and expressing gratitude to King Abdullah II and the Jordanian people for their exceptional friendship, as Crown Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah II personally bid farewell at the airport.
In a poignant post,PM Modi reflected, My visit to Jordan has been immensely productive. I thank His Majesty King Abdullah II and the people of Jordan for their exceptional friendship. Our discussions have strengthened the India-Jordan partnership across key areas such as renewable energy, water management, digital transformation, cultural exchanges and heritage cooperation. The outcomes we have achieved together will open new avenues for progress and prosperity for our citizens. Am also thankful to His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah II for coming to the airport as I leave Jordan.
This landmark two-day tour—India's first bilateral to Jordan in 37 years—featured palace talks yielding five MoUs on renewables, water resources, Petra-Ellora twinning, cultural exchanges through 2029, and digital solutions; a business forum targeting $5 billion trade via an eight-point roadmap; and Jordan's anti-terrorism resolve hailed as a strategic message to humanity amid 75 diplomatic years.
PM Modi now heads to Ethiopia for his inaugural state visit (December 16-17) to bolster Global South ties with PM Abiy Ahmed Ali, before concluding in Oman (December 17-18) with Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, fortifying West Asia-Africa synergies.
