Principles for sale, votes on discount: Malviya's scathing attack on Bengal government

Kolkata, 16 December (H.S.): BJP leader Amit Malviya launched a scathing attack on the state of the education system in Bengal and the policies of the Trinamool government on Tuesday, using the social media platform X (formerly Twitter). He alleged that appeasement has become an official policy in Bengal.

In his post, Amit Malviya wrote, In Bengal today, appeasement is an official policy.

While the education system crumbles, the TMC government has earmarked ₹5,600 crore to expand Madrasa education.

For what—development or vote-bank cultivation?

He further wrote, Principles are for sale, votes are on discount, resulting in weakened policing, emboldened extremists, and fractured social harmony.

Malviya stated that this is not secularism, but rather a surrender for votes. He emphasized, True secularism means equal justice and firm governance. Bengal needs schools that build futures, policing that enforces the law, and leadership with courage—not appeasement politics that trades public safety for ballots.

He concluded his post by writing, Wake up, Bengal.
