Guwahati, 16 December (HS): Dispur Police in Guwahati have arrested a man in connection with a ₹7 lakh snatching case, which on investigation turned out to be a fabricated incident.

On Tuesday, a team of Dispur Police made a startling revelation while probing a spray-snatching complaint involving ₹7 lakh. The complainant, identified as Dhruv Kalita of Kahilipara, had earlier claimed that miscreants sprayed a substance on him and fled with the cash.

However, during investigation, police found that the incident was staged by the complainant himself. The entire amount of ₹7 lakh was recovered from his rented house and subsequently seized.

Based on the FIR registered in connection with the case, further legal action is underway.
