Ayodhya,
16 Dec (HS): Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reached Hindu Dham Ashram in
Ayodhya on Tuesday and paid tribute to the late Mahant of Vashisht Bhawan, Dr.
Ram Vilas Vedanti Ji Maharaj and remembered his contribution. On this occasion,
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that senior member of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi
Mukti Abhiyan and Mahant of Vashisht Bhawan, Ayodhya, Dr. Ram Vilas Vedanti is
not physically present among us today, but his entire life was dedicated to the
development of Ayodhya Dham and the construction of a grand temple of Ram
Lalla. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Vedanti Ji's entire life was
dedicated to Ram's work. It is also a coincidence that while reciting the holy
story of Lord Shri Ram, he left his mortal body and went to Saket.
Chief
Minister Yogi Adityanath, recalling Vedanti's contributions, said he had the
privilege of witnessing the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mukti movement from its
inception to its eventual culmination and successful outcome. He added that
Vedanti was also present with grace at the November 25th ceremony of hoisting
the flag at the grand temple built at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi. This is a clear
testament to his dedication and continued participation. Chief Minister Yogi
Adityanath stated that Vedanti played an active role in every movement and
program organized since the inception of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mukti Abhiyan
in 1983.
Remembering
Vedanti, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, Although he is no longer
physically present with us, I have come to Ayodhya to pay my humble tribute to
his departure to Saket and to express my condolences to his disciples and
ashram residents.
Deep
association with Gorakshapeeth: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that
Vedanti ji had a very close and cordial relationship with Gorakshapeeth. He
told that at the time of manifestation of the idol of Lord Shri Ram at Shri Ram
Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya Dham in the year 1949, the then Peethadheeshwar of
Gorakshapeeth, Pujya Mahant Digvijaynath and Vedanti ji's revered Guru Baba
Abhiram Das ji were part of that historic campaign. Chief Minister Yogi further
said that when Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mukti Yagya Samiti was formed in the year
1983 and his revered Gurudev, Gorakshapeethadhiswar Pujya Mahant Avedyanath
became the president of that committee, since then Dr. Ram Vilas Vedanti
remained continuously associated with this movement as a senior member.
Praying
to Lord Shri Ram for a place at his feet: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said
that Vedanti was a witness to all the historic events related to the holy
temple of Lord Shri Ram, including the laying of the foundation stone on August
5, 2020, the consecration ceremony on January 22, 2024, and the hoisting of the
Dharmadhwaja on November 25, 2025. It was the result of his lifelong devotion
and determination that he departed this world after witnessing the enshrinement
of Ram Lalla, the construction of the grand temple, the divine and magnificent
Ayodhya in its true form, and singing the Ramayana. The Chief Minister prayed
to Lord Shri Ram to grant Vedanti a place at his feet. He said that he pays his
humble tribute and bows to his memory and has full confidence that, following
the ideals of Vedanti Maharaj, the disciples and followers of his ashram will
continue to be involved in the work of Ram.
It
is noteworthy that Dr. Ram Vilas Vedanti was reciting the Ram Katha in Bhathwa
village, near Lalgaon, Madhya Pradesh. The Katha was scheduled to continue
until December 17th, but after complaining of chest pain and anxiety on
Saturday night, he was brought to Rewa for treatment. He passed away on Monday
while undergoing treatment at a super specialty hospital there.
