Chennai, 15 December (H.S.) : A woman staff member sustained injuries after miscreants threw stones at a private firm's bus in Hosur, Krishnagiri district, past midnight on Saturday.

The bus was en route from the firm’s premises at Rayakottai to Krishnagiri to drop off workers when the incident occurred. The stone pelting shattered the glass window panes of the bus, injuring a staff member who was seated near the window.

The victim, who is a native of Andhra Pradesh, has been admitted to a private hospital in Hosur for treatment.

Police officials denied reports that petrol bombs were hurled at the bus. Authorities suspect the attack may be an act of revenge, as the same firm’s bus was involved in a fatal accident last month in the same locality, resulting in the death of two youths riding a bike.

The Krishnagiri Taluk police have registered a case regarding the stone-pelting incident, and further inquiries are currently underway.
