Chennai, 14 December (H.S.) :The Tamil Nadu Police on Sunday granted official permission for the public meeting of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay, scheduled to be held on December 18 in Erode.
The rally, which marks a significant political step for the actor-turned-politician, will take place between 11 am and 1 pm at Vijayamangalam. The clearance was issued after TVK functionaries fulfilled all mandatory requirements, including securing a No Objection Certificate from the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) department for the 16-acre temple land where the event is planned.
TVK Chief Coordinator K.A. Sengottaiyan, who submitted the initial petition three days ago, confirmed that police had demanded the fulfilment of eighty-four specific conditions before granting permission.
Furthermore, the party was directed to deposit Rupees fifty thousand towards the temple rent and an additional Rupees fifty thousand as a caution deposit. Following an inspection of the site by Superintendent of Police A.
Sujatha and other officials, the final approval was given. Party functionaries have expressed their gratitude to both the Police and the HR&CE department for the cooperation.
Speaking to reporters, Sengottaiyan asserted that preparatory work for the December 18 event is progressing rapidly, with party workers already cleaning and preparing the location near the Vijayamangalam tollgate. He projected immense confidence in the party's future, stating that the public support for their leader is overwhelming, and there is no rival for the TVK.
He emphatically declared that with this tremendous backing, Vijay is certain to become the Chief Minister in the next year's elections. Regarding the selection of candidates for the forthcoming Assembly polls, Sengottaiyan mentioned that the party chief would make a formal announcement at the appropriate time.
