
Bhubaneswar, 15 December (H.S.):Navy Officer Lieutenant Harshit Deo was formally appointed as the Aide-De-Camp (ADC) to the Governor of Odisha on Monday. The official appointment ceremony was held at Lok Bhawan, where Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati conferred the honorary title upon him.
Lieutenant Deo joins his new assignment after serving as WKO aboard INS Aditya. An alumnus of the prestigious National Defence Academy (NDA), he holds a B.Tech degree in Applied Electronics and Communication. He completed his Sub-Lieutenant (Afloat) phase onboard INS Delhi in May 2022 and subsequently underwent the SLT (X) Tech Course, following which he was posted to INS Aditya in April 2023 for watch-keeping duties. He was appointed as the Watch Keeping Officer onboard INS Aditya in December 2023.
During his tenure, Lieutenant Deo participated in multiple fleet deployments and international naval exercises, gaining valuable operational experience.
A native of Lohaghat in Champawat district of Uttarakhand, Lieutenant Deo is the son of a retired government teacher, Shri Naresh Deo, a recipient of the President’s Award for teaching.
Lieutenant Deo brings with him a strong academic background and professional naval experience to his new role.
The Governor of Odisha is assisted by two Aides-De-Camp—one from the Indian Navy and another from the State Police. Shri Kuldeep Meena, IPS, an officer of the State Police, is currently serving as the other ADC to the Governor.
