Gadchiroli, 15 Dec (HS): As many as 400 cases were

settled in the National Lok Adalat held in Gadchiroli, as per directions of the

National Law Services Authority and the Supreme Court. This was the fourth Lok

Adalat in a year in Gadchiroli.

Criminal and Civil cases related cheque bouncing, AN

Act, under Section 138, land acquisition, family disputes, Motor Vehicles Accident

Claims, pending electric bills, loan recovery by finance companies, cases

pending in Consumer Courts etc handled in the Lok Adalat. A total of 332

pending cases and 68 cases of pre-litigation disputes were presented before ten

panels of judges. The panels settled 270 cases amicaly with recovery of about

Rs 1.60 crore.
