CM Approves Establishment of Global Visa Application Centre in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, 15 December (H.S.): Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has approved the establishment of a Global Visa Application Centre in Bhubaneswar, a move that will spare people of Odisha from travelling to cities such as Kolkata, Delhi or Hyderabad for visa-related services.

The proposed visa centre will operate from the Baba Saheb Ambedkar Bus Terminal building at Baramunda in Bhubaneswar. The Odisha government will provide around 3,000 square feet of space for the facility.

At present, residents of the state are required to visit other metropolitan cities to obtain international visas, often facing additional expenses, time constraints and inconvenience. There has been a long-standing demand for setting up a visa application centre in the state capital.

Keeping this demand in view, the Chief Minister has taken the decision, which is expected to bring significant relief to the people of Odisha and make the process of international travel more accessible and convenient.
