Kolkata, 15 December (H.S.): From the outside, thousands of lights were visible, and music could be heard. But behind the facade of this spa, a sex racket had been operating for a long time. Following a tip-off, the Ashoknagar police raided a spa in a residential area of Barasat and detained a total of 15 people, including men and women. The spa manager, Israil Sheikh, has been arrested on charges of running the racket. The police are investigating whether there is a larger mastermind behind the operation. The rescued young men and women have been handed over to Barasat police station by Ashoknagar police.

There is a factory called Regent Garments in the Kazipara area on Jessore Road in Barasat. Several shops are located around it, and a spa is also situated there. Local residents claimed that many men and women frequented the spa, none of whom were from the area.

However, local residents were prohibited from entering the spa. On several occasions, locals were turned away from the entrance. Residents alleged that a sex racket had been operating under the guise of this spa for a long time.

A few days ago, a person filed a written complaint at Ashoknagar police station. Based on this complaint, the police launched an investigation. On Sunday evening, the Officer-in-Charge of Ashoknagar police station, Chintamani Naskar, arrived at the spa. A police force also accompanied him. A raid was conducted. At least 15 women and men were caught red-handed.

The spa manager, Israil Sheikh, has also been arrested on charges of running the racket. Regarding this, the Additional SP of Barasat Police District, Durbar Bandyopadhyay, said, The entire matter is being investigated. Several people have been detained.

The police are investigating whether there is a larger mastermind behind this racket. A thorough investigation is underway.
