Nagpur, 14 December (H.S.): Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde led a delegation of ruling legislators to the Smruti Mandir in Reshimbagh on Sunday, paying solemn floral tributes at the memorials of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) founder Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar and second Sarsanghchalak Madhav Sadashiv Golwalkar.

The annual homage, a longstanding tradition during the state legislature's Winter Session in Nagpur—RSS's birthplace—drew Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar, Legislative Council Chairperson Ram Shinde, and several BJP and Shiv Sena lawmakers.

Shiv Sena chief Shinde, addressing reporters post-visit, hailed the RSS's centenary as a milestone of patriotism, commending its century-long service to the nation and lauding current Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat as a guiding patriot who inspires societal welfare.

He emphasized that visits to Dr. Hedgewar Smruti Mandir—where the RSS was founded exactly 100 years ago—instill profound nationalistic fervor, transcending caste, creed, or region.

The ceremony coincided with the Winter Session's final day, underscoring Nagpur's dual role as Maharashtra's secondary capital and ideological cradle, where leaders routinely seek inspiration amid legislative deliberations.
