Pradesh recorded the severest episodes, with visibility plummeting below 50 meters in parts, including zero at Agra and Prayagraj, disrupting early morning travel.

The IMD anticipates cold waves in Telangana and Karnataka on December 15-16, alongside dense morning fog in Uttar Pradesh (December 15-16), Northeast India (December 15-19), Himachal Pradesh (December 15-17), and Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, plus northeastern Madhya Pradesh (December 15-16).

Jammu and Kashmir faces light rain and snowfall on December 14-15, with another weak western disturbance likely triggering similar activity on December 18-19.

Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand brace for gusty cold winds at 30-40 km/h with thunder from December 14-18, while Delhi-NCR expects sharper cold and morning fog through the week.

Rajgarh in western Madhya Pradesh and Ambikapur in Chhattisgarh logged the lowest plain-area temperatures at 5.6°C over the past 24 hours, with multiple northern and central states dipping between 5°C and 10°C.

No major shifts in minimum temperatures are projected nationwide for the next seven days, and fishermen have been advised to avoid the Gulf of Mannar and adjacent Comorin areas until December 17.
