Chennai, 13 December (H.S.) : Anderson Diagnostics & Labs, Chennai, and the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) have formally launched the MAHE-Anderson Centre of Excellence (COE) in Reproductive Genomics. This landmark partnership aims to fundamentally transform prenatal testing and women's healthcare diagnostics across coastal Karnataka and neighboring regions.

The COE marks a significant milestone by establishing a first-of-its-kind, state-of-the-art Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) facility directly within the University Hospital. This facility is designed to provide comprehensive diagnostic services to all institutions under the MAHE umbrella.

The core mission of the Centre is to integrate advanced academic research with robust, scalable clinical diagnostics to impact reproductive and fetal medicine. Dr. Suriyakumar G, Director of Anderson Diagnostics & Labs, stated that the company is leveraging its decade of experience in reproductive genomics to establish the operational backbone, ensuring research translates quickly and reliably into actionable diagnostic reports for patients.

Dr. Sharath K. Rao, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Health Sciences) at MAHE, lauded the collaboration for expanding access to cost-effective genomic solutions, while Dr. Shubhashree Uppangala, Coordinator for the COE, emphasized its broader mission to bridge the current knowledge gap in reproductive genomic diagnostic solutions and support precision medicine in women's health.
