New Delhi, Dec 11. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday underscored the importance of strategic wisdom, calibrated restraint and decisive action in protecting national interests and ensuring long-term security and development.
Sharing a Sanskrit shloka on social media platform X, the Prime Minister said these principles have timeless relevance in guiding statesmanship and nation-building.
He posted:
“सुदुर्बलं नावजानाति कञ्चिद् युक्तो रिपुं सेवते बुद्धिपूर्वम्।
न विग्रहं रोचयते बलस्थैः काले च यो विक्रमते स धीरः॥”
The shloka conveys that a wise person never underestimates the weak, approaches conflict with prudence, avoids unnecessary confrontation, and acts with courage at the right moment.
The Prime Minister’s message reflects his emphasis on a balanced approach to governance — combining prudence with strength and readiness to act when required.
