Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday inaugurated the distribution of free bicycles to Class 9 students under the Chief Minister’s Special Scheme, marking a significant step towards strengthening the education sector.

At a ceremony held in Dibrugarh, the Chief Minister expressed happiness over launching the initiative aimed at motivating students and making their commute to school easier. As many as 3,10,031 students across Assam received bicycles on the first day of the distribution drive.

Dr. Sarma said the scheme would inspire students to pursue their education with renewed enthusiasm and help them move forward with confidence. Extending his greetings, he added that each bicycle brings them a step closer to a brighter future and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the students—stating that “Mama is always with you.”----------
