11 Dec (HS): A Bolero vehicle carrying pilgrims on their way to Ayodhya

collided with a tractor trolley on the Prayagraj Highway near Kalyan Bhadarsa

village, Purakalandar police station area in the Ayodhya district of Uttar

Pradesh. Three pilgrims were killed and 11 were injured. All the injured were

taken to the district hospital.

The

incident took place on Thursday morning around 5 am. On receiving information,

the police of Purakalandar police station, with the help of local people, took

the injured to the district hospital and the police took both the vehicles into

custody. All the devotees were coming from Rewa in Madhya Pradesh to visit Ram

Lalla in Ayodhya. On getting information about the accident, Chief Minister

Yogi Adityanath has taken cognizance of the road accident that took place in

Ayodhya district and expressed condolences to the bereaved families of the

deceased. He has instructed the officials to immediately reach the spot and

speed up the relief work. The Chief Minister has also given instructions for

proper treatment of the injured.

Chitrasen's

daughter Ankita Patel (25), Mahendra Mani Patel's wife Mirabai (25), and driver

Ram Yash Mishra (50) died on the spot. Chitrasen, his wife Chandrakala (45),

sons Tanuj Patel (20) and Deepak Kumar Patel (35), Saroj Mani Patel's wife

Kusum (35) and son Ashish Patel (23), and Harikesh's five-year-old son Shivansh

Patel and wife Shashi Patel (30) were seriously injured.

Purakalandar

police arrived at the scene and transported the injured to the district

hospital in three ambulances, where they are currently undergoing treatment.

Inspector-in-Charge Manoj Sharma stated that the bodies have been taken into

custody and post-mortems are being conducted. The injured are undergoing

treatment. Both vehicles have been impounded.
