Howrah, 03 February (HS): A car suddenly caught fire on Saturday near the toll plaza on the Second Hooghly Bridge in Howrah district. It is learnt that while coming from Kolkata to Howrah, the vehicle caught fire near counter number 18. There were two people in the car. Both were taken out of the car safely. Primarily, It is assumed that the car caught fire due to mechanical failure. One lane of traffic on the bridge was blocked due to the car fire. Police and fire department reached the spot and the fire was droused. There was no report of any casualty in the incident.

According to eyewitnesses, ''''A Swift Dezire car was going from Kolkata to Howrah. Suddenly smoke started coming out from the car near the toll plaza and flames were visible. Within some time the car started burning.''''
