Guwahati, 05 September (HS): Women and Child Development Minister Ajanta Neog reviewed departmental programmes in Udalguri and Darrang on Friday, directing officials to accelerate development works and ensure proper utilisation of funds.

In Udalguri, Neog directed completion of 152 Anganwadi Centres by November, while in Darrang she set a target of completing 105 centres before Durga Puja. She stressed that the centres should be timely, attractive and child-friendly.

The Minister also called for awareness drives against child marriage, trafficking, crimes against women and drug abuse, while emphasising nutrition for pregnant women and children. She said development must not only be ensured but also accelerated through coordinated and effective implementation.------------
