Bhubaneswar, 05 September (H.S.): Odisha Law, Works and Excise Minister Prithviraj Harichandan on Saturday reviewed the progress of several major road infrastructure projects in the state, including proposed elevated corridors, ring road projects and flyover construction.

A review meeting chaired by the Minister was held at the conference hall of Lok Seva Bhavan to assess the progress of ongoing and proposed road projects. The Minister said several important projects in the roads, bridges and building sectors have already received approval, while several more are awaiting clearance. Once implemented, these projects are expected to give a major boost to Odisha’s economic development.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the proposed Raghunathpur-Trishulia Elevated Corridor and an elevated road between Studio Chhak and Nuagaon. The progress of the Pipili-Konark road project and the first and third phases of the Daya Western project was also reviewed.

The meeting further discussed the new alignment proposed for the Bhubaneswar Outer Ring Road, along with the Bhubaneswar Inner Ring Road project. The construction of the Kalpana Square flyover and the progress of plans for a new elevated road to improve connectivity and ease traffic movement towards Puri were also reviewed.

Works Department Principal Secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh advised departmental officials and chief engineers to take necessary steps to resolve bottlenecks affecting the progress of the projects. He also reviewed issues relating to land acquisition and preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) and issued necessary directions for expediting the process.

The meeting was attended by Engineer-in-Chief-cum-Special Secretary Er. Sameer Hota, Engineer-in-Chief (Civil) Er. Satyabrata Behera, Additional Secretary Pradeep Kumar Sahu, Chief Construction Engineer Er. Manoj Mahananda, Chief Engineer Er. Shibabrata Taria, OBCC Chief General Manager Sridhar Rout, and other senior officials.
