New Delhi, 04 September (H.S.): President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and several other leaders on Friday extended greetings to the people of the country on the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami.

President Murmu said, “On the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami, I extend my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all Indians living in the country and abroad. The life and teachings of Lord Krishna have infused Indian culture and philosophy with renewed vitality. He showed humanity the path of truth, righteousness, justice, compassion and selfless action. On this auspicious occasion, let us all resolve to imbibe the ideals of Lord Krishna and continue working towards building an inclusive and developed India.”

The Vice President said that the life and teachings of Lord Krishna inspire humanity to follow the path of truth, righteousness, duty and virtue. On this sacred occasion, he called upon people to resolve to incorporate the eternal teachings of Lord Krishna into their lives and contribute towards strengthening unity, peace and harmony in society.

Prime Minister Modi said that the divine teachings of Lord Krishna contain a profound inspiration for selfless action, which has continuously guided humanity. He expressed the hope that this sacred occasion, dedicated to the devotion and worship of Lord Krishna, would fill everyone’s life with positive energy and strength. “Jai Shri Krishna!” he said.

Om Birla said, “On the birth anniversary of Shri Krishna, Govind, Hare Murari, He Nath Narayan, Vasudeva, I pray that every home may be filled with happiness and peace, every heart with faith, and every life with renewed energy and enthusiasm. On Janmashtami, I also pray that the blessings of Lord Krishna remain upon all devotees. May the nation and society continue to move forward on the path of truth, justice and humanity.”

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that Lord Krishna’s immortal message in the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita inspires people to remain devoted to their duties and embrace wisdom, patience and the welfare of society. He prayed that, with the blessings of Lord Krishna, happiness, peace, prosperity and well-being would prevail across the country and that every family would be filled with joy, hope and renewed energy.

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah said that Yogeshwar Lord Krishna, the embodiment of righteousness, ethics and public welfare, should continue to shower his blessings upon everyone.

Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi said he hoped the festival would fill people’s lives with joy and happiness. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge extended his wishes, praying that happiness, peace, prosperity and well-being would prevail in everyone’s life.
