Lucknow, 25 Aug (HS): Yogi Adityanath celebrated the Unified

Payments Interface's (UPI) 10-year anniversary, stressing how digital

transactions have empowered individuals and transformed India into a worldwide

financial leader. Under state and federal control, adoption across the UP—from

urban areas to rural villages—has eased micropayments, benefited local street

sellers, and fostered a cash-light local economy.

“Under the visionary leadership of the Hon'ble Prime

Minister Shri @narendramodiji, the journey of UPI, which began 10 years ago,

has today become a global symbol of India's digital capability and

self-reliance. From street vendors to large establishments, from small village

shops to metropolitan cities, a single QR code has made payments seamless and

swift, connecting millions of people to the digital economy. It has empowered

small traders, provided convenience to ordinary citizens, and brought greater

transparency to economic transactions,” UP CM remarked in a post on X.

“UPI has broken down barriers of time and distance, bringing

banking services right to the palm of every individual. It has transformed

technology into a real enabler of convenience and economic empowerment in the

lives of the common person. This 10-year journey—from convenience to inclusion,

inclusion to empowerment, and empowerment to economic transformation—is a

living testament to the strength of 'Digital India.' Heartfelt gratitude and

congratulations to the Prime Minister ji for this transformative digital

journey!” he added.
