New Delhi, 24 August (H.S.):
Powered by a superb half-century from Yash Bhatia and an impressive three-wicket haul from Parikshit Sahrawat, North Delhi Strikers defeated Outer Delhi Warriors by 39 runs in the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2026 late on Sunday night.
In the match played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, North Delhi Strikers posted 166 for seven in their allotted 20 overs after opting to bat first. In reply, Outer Delhi Warriors could manage only 127 for seven in 20 overs.
Yash Bhatia led the North Delhi batting effort with an excellent 53 off 38 balls, providing the team with a strong start. Kaushal Suman then made a useful contribution, scoring 33 off 26 deliveries.
Parikshit Sahrawat’s lethal spell
Chasing a target of 167, Outer Delhi Warriors got off to a poor start and had lost three wickets for 47 runs by the ninth over. Harsh Tyagi subsequently struck an aggressive half-century to revive the Warriors’ hopes, but wickets continued to fall at regular intervals, preventing the side from building a substantial partnership.
North Delhi’s Parikshit Sahrawat produced a superb spell, claiming three wickets for just 10 runs in his four overs, including a maiden. His disciplined bowling prevented the Outer Delhi batters from playing freely and kept the required run rate under pressure.
In the end, Outer Delhi Warriors finished on 127 for seven in 20 overs and suffered a 39-run defeat.
