
Hooghly, 20 August (H.S.): West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari visited Arambagh on Thursday to review the administrative preparedness to tackle the flood situation in the Arambagh subdivision. Arambagh MP Mitali Bag, along with senior administrative officials, attended the meeting convened to assess the situation.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Mitali Bag praised Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, saying that he had stood by the common people even when he was the Leader of the Opposition. She said that after becoming Chief Minister, Adhikari continues to stand with people and personally review the situation during crises and natural disasters.
Bag said the Chief Minister’s direct presence during a natural disaster such as floods would further strengthen the confidence of both the administration and the people. She added that ensuring public safety and strengthening administrative preparedness to deal with the flood situation were being given the highest priority.
The Chief Minister’s visit also saw heightened administrative activity in Arambagh. The meeting focused on the prevailing flood situation, preparedness measures already undertaken and the strategy to deal with possible challenges in the coming days.
