
Council of Bishops' decision dampened spirits of
conspirators
Prayagraj, 20 Aug (HS): Bishop Morris Edgar Dan of the
Lucknow Diocese has returned to Prayagraj after participating in the crucial
Bishops' Council meeting held at the Church of North India (CNI) headquarters
in New Delhi. His arrival, following a historic two-year extension from the
Delhi court, sparked unprecedented enthusiasm among the Christian community and
supporters. Upon returning from the CNI building in New Delhi to his office in
Prayagraj, he was greeted with a rousing welcome by the crowd already present
there. Following the grand welcome at the office, the entire Lucknow Diocese
was immersed in the sound of fireworks and celebration until late in the
evening.
Overjoyed by the decision, supporters, employees, and
members of the Christian community set off fireworks outside the office
premises. The entire campus was filled with the deafening sound of
firecrackers. Sweets were distributed among the staff and visitors present at
the premises. People were seen greeting each other with sweets and hugs. The
celebratory atmosphere became even more joyous when drums and trumpets rang out
in the office premises. The office staff danced to the beats of drums to
express their joy at the Bishop's extension and the Bishop's return from a
successful meeting of the Bishops' Council.
Supporters expressed their gratitude to CNI Moderator Dr.
Paritosh Canning for this historic decision. Many prominent Christian figures
and staff were present at the Diocese office to congratulate and welcome Bishop
Morris Edgar Dan. Among those who provided the grand welcome were Rev. Dr.
Vinita Eusebius, Lalit Eusebius, Pastor Praveen Massey, SK Nath, Johnson David
Johnson, Arun Paul, Treasurer Sunil Verma, Media Incharge, Spokesperson Rakesh
Kumar, Vijay Kumar, and Pappu. All these senior figures presented the Bishop
with bouquets of flowers, conveying their best wishes, and commending his
successful leadership.
