New Delhi, 17 August (H.S.): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Jammu and Kashmir Police Sub-Inspector Danish Hamid for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000. The accused officer was posted at Janipur Police Station in Jammu.

According to the CBI, the accused Sub-Inspector had demanded a bribe of Rs 20,000 from the complainant in exchange for not registering a First Information Report (FIR) against him in connection with a matrimonial dispute. Following negotiations, the officer agreed to accept Rs 10,000 as the bribe.

The CBI registered a case on August 16 based on the complaint. The agency subsequently laid a trap and caught the accused Sub-Inspector red-handed while allegedly demanding and accepting Rs 10,000 from the complainant.
