(HS): Two people, including a child charred to death in a fire on the 11th

floor of a residential building in Mumbai’s Vileparle area. The fire broke out

around 10 pm on Tuesday. The fire which was of level 1 spread further to assumed

level 2 grade within 10 minutes.

The deceased

were named as Abir (2.5 years) and Ankita (23). Six people were rushed to

Nanavati Hospital, where the two died. Other are being treated.

The fire was

brought under control by the Fire Brigade. Police personnel and Ambulances

reached the site immediately. About 15 residents stranded on the terrace of the

building were rescued.

The cause of the

fire was not uncertained.
