12 Aug (HS): Yogi Adityanath constantly remembers Amar Shaheed Babu Bandhu

Singh, a heroic 1857 independence warrior from Gorakhpur's Dumri Riyasat. The

CM frequently pays respect to his valor, highlighting how the revolutionary

utilized guerrilla warfare against British control, inspiring the Tarkulha Devi

Temple's hallowed traditions. To

maintain his memory, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has aggressively launched

memorial sculptures, promoted regional historical sites, and expanded educational

initiatives like as Gorakhpur's Shaheed Bandhu Singh Degree College.

Babu

Bandhu Singh, a hero of the 1857 Indian liberation fight from Gorakhpur, Uttar

Pradesh, died on August 12 as a martyr (Shahadat Divas). Yogi Adityanath, the

Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, has long championed his legacy, unveiling his

statue at Alinagar Chauraha, where the freedom warrior was killed by the

British.

In

a post on X, he mentioned, “On the martyrdom day of Babu Bandhu Singh, the

devoted follower of Maa Tarkulha Devi and the pride of Gorakhpur's soil, the

great freedom fighter, humble tribute. He valiantly resisted the British. His

courage will forever continue to stir our consciousness for the integrity of

the motherland.”
