Captain Anuj Rawat's blistering 92 and Aryan Gaur's unbeaten half-century powered Purani Dilli 6 to a convincing seven-wicket victory over Outer Delhi Warriors in the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2026 on Monday night. Following the win, Rawat highlighted his partnership with Gaur and credited the youngster's contribution for playing a key role in the team's successful run chase.

Chasing a target of 166, Purani Dilli 6 were in early trouble after losing two wickets for just nine runs. Rawat then took charge with an aggressive innings to steady the chase, while Gaur provided valuable support at the other end.

The wicket was slightly slow, so the plan was to play normally and not try to do anything extra. However, when the left-arm spinner came on and we lost the first two wickets, I felt it was important for the team that I stepped up and played an impactful innings, Rawat said.

Reflecting on his partnership with Gaur, Rawat said, Once I played a good shot, I started getting into a rhythm, and Aryan also played a very important role at the other end.

Rawat smashed 92 runs off just 38 balls, while Gaur remained unbeaten on 57 off 40 deliveries. Their partnership put Purani Dilli 6 firmly in control, with the team completing the chase in the 16th over.

Speaking about the pitch and the team's bowling strategy, Rawat said, Yes, the wicket was a little slow and the spinners were getting some turn as well. Considering the kind of bowlers we have, I felt we could restrict them to below 180 after the powerplay. The good thing is that we managed to do that.

Following the victory, Purani Dilli 6 moved to seven points from six matches.
