New Delhi, 11 August (H.S.): Global markets are providing mixed signals on Tuesday, with Asian equities also witnessing a mixed trend. US markets closed lower in the previous session, while Dow Jones futures are currently trading marginally down. European markets ended the previous session on a mixed note.

Investors remained cautious on Wall Street during the previous session, keeping pressure on the major US indices. The S&P 500 ended 0.06 per cent lower at 7,753.11, while the Nasdaq declined 0.32 per cent to close at 26,605.36. Meanwhile, Dow Jones futures were trading marginally lower by 0.02 per cent at 53,964.19.

European markets also delivered a mixed performance in the previous session. The FTSE index declined 0.36 per cent to close at 10,862.50, while the CAC index gained 0.13 per cent to finish at 8,726.03. Germany's DAX edged up 0.02 per cent to settle at 26,323.88.

Asian markets were trading mixed on Tuesday. Of the nine major Asian markets tracked, five indices were trading in negative territory, while three were in the green. Trading in Japan's Nikkei index remained subdued as the Tokyo Stock Exchange was closed for a holiday.

South Korea's KOSPI was trading 83.02 points, or 1.32 per cent, higher at 6,382.68. Singapore's Straits Times Index gained 50.53 points, or 0.89 per cent, to reach 5,748.96. Taiwan's Weighted Index also advanced 200.85 points, or 0.45 per cent, to 45,129.61.

On the other hand, GIFT Nifty was trading 95.50 points, or 0.39 per cent, lower at 24,536. The SET Composite Index declined 0.37 per cent to 1,618.40. Indonesia's Jakarta Composite Index fell 0.76 per cent to 6,317.06, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index dropped 158.49 points, or 0.61 per cent, to 25,779. China's Shanghai Composite Index was also marginally lower, declining 0.05 per cent to 3,964.79.
