Nagpur, 04 July (HS): “Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh volunteers provide
services in different fields. Some people think that their work is remotely or
centrally controlled. But RSS only grooms people with their behaviour,
qualities, values and character. The volunteers work independently as per the
needs of the field”, said RSS Sarasanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat.
Dr Bhagwat was speaking on “Dr Hedgewar – Adhunik Yug Ke Shaliwahan’ at
Scientific Society Hall, Nagpur. He said the basic principles and values cannot
be compromised, the methodology to serve the society can be different. RSS
grooms people on basic principles of humanity, honesty and dedicated work. It
grooms volunteers for maintaining character, nationality and social
responsibility, which is reflected in their families and communities. Dr
Hedgewar during his entire life demonstrated these values to present a model to
be followed by RSS volunteers.
The values and principles of life will have to be inculcated in the
family and community for making Bharat a world leader in its true sense, Dr Bhagawat
added. Getting rid of ego is very difficult, but has to be practiced for
serving the society.
Dr Hedgewar could achieve it through determination, and dedication and
practice throughout his life.
People had tendency to follow the Western culture even before independence,
which later grew. Dr Hedgewar, however, followed Indian values and culture and
presented a model with his life.
Today youth from various countries are inspired by work of RSS. We all
should work towards preservation of our dharma, culture and national spirit. Dr
Bhagwat added.
