Bahraich, 24 July (HS): Bahraich police and the SSB on Friday busted

an organized network of illegal immigrants along the India-Nepal international

border. Five people, including an active member of the banned organization

Waaris Punjab De from the US, were arrested in the joint operation.

Srivastava said that on the basis of special intelligence information, a joint

team of SSB and police stopped suspects illegally entering India from Nepal at

the BIT check post in Rupaidiha police station area on Thursday night.

Questioning and investigation

revealed that the arrested individuals included Manveer Singh Dhillon, a

resident of California, USA, and Vikramjit Singh, a resident of Punjab, who are

said to be associated with the organization Waaris Punjab De. Three

local associates, Rahul Kumar, Suresh Kumar Pathak, and Dilip Pathak, alias

Rahul Pathak, were also arrested.

The investigation revealed that the accused

were illegally entering India through Nepal using fake identity cards and with

the help of local associates. During interrogation, the accused's possession

revealed several important clues related to their organization and activities.

Punjab Police is also being contacted to gather information about their

criminal history and network.

Fake documents and foreign goods

recovered: A US passport, an iPhone, a Bank of America debit card, foreign

credit cards, fake Aadhaar cards, PAN cards, driver's licenses, Indian and

Nepalese currency, and a car and motorcycle were recovered from the arrested

suspects. The authenticity of the seized documents is being verified.

Serious cases already filed:

According to the police, Vikramjit Singh and Manveer Singh Dhillon already have

serious criminal cases filed against them in Punjab. In Bahraich, cases have

been filed against them and other accused under sections of the Indian Penal

Code (IPC), forgery, fraud, and provisions related to foreign nationals, and

further legal action is underway.

The Superintendent of Police said that security agencies are now

searching for other individuals involved in this network. They are

investigating whether their connections extend to other states or even abroad.
