Kolkata, 24 July (H.S.): The Shiksha Sanskriti Sangathan Manch has launched a statewide awareness campaign in West Bengal against the violent protests surrounding the NEET-UG examination issue. The campaign has already begun at Raiganj University in North Bengal and is being extended to several districts, including Jhargram, Bankura, North 24 Parganas, Jalpaiguri, and Paschim Bardhaman, through rallies and street meetings.

According to the organisation, a major rally will also be held in Kolkata in the coming days.

The Manch stated that after the alleged NEET question paper leak, a re-examination was conducted promptly and the results were declared in a transparent manner. In such a situation, it said, there is no justification for violent protests. The campaign aims to convey to the public that democratic and peaceful means should be adopted to express dissent.

The organisation also alleged that anti-national elements have infiltrated the ongoing agitation and are attempting to exploit the issue for ulterior motives. It said the statewide campaign is intended to create public awareness about these concerns.
