BEIJING, July 23 (HS/RIA Novosti) - The Chinese military began a two-day live-fire exercise in the Taiwan Strait on Thursday, the Chinese Maritime Security Administration said.

The exercise began at 6 a.m. local time on Thursday (22:00 GMT on Wednesday) and will run through Friday.

The drills are being conducted in the waters off the city of Zhangzhou in the eastern Chinese province of Fujian, the statement read.

The administration shared the coordinates of the exercise areas, which are prohibited from entering during the maneuvers.
