New Delhi, 19 July (H.S.): Gold prices witnessed a sharp rise in the domestic bullion market on Sunday, while silver also recorded a marginal increase. Except Chennai, most bullion markets across the country reported a jump of Rs 660 to Rs 770 per 10 grams in gold prices. In Chennai, gold prices increased by Rs 360 to Rs 390 per 10 grams. Silver prices also edged higher by Rs 100 per kilogram.

Following the rise in prices, 24-carat gold was trading between Rs 1,43,290 and Rs 1,43,440 per 10 grams in most major bullion markets across the country. Similarly, 22-carat gold was being sold in the range of Rs 1,31,300 to Rs 1,31,450 per 10 grams. With a marginal rise in prices, silver was trading at Rs 2,30,000 per kilogram in the Delhi bullion market.

However, on a weekly basis, both gold and silver witnessed a decline due to continued volatility in the market. During the previous week’s trading sessions, 24-carat gold became cheaper by up to Rs 1,040 per 10 grams. Likewise, 22-carat gold prices declined by nearly Rs 950 per 10 grams on a weekly basis. Despite fluctuations, silver prices also fell during the week, slipping by up to Rs 5,000 per kilogram.

In Delhi, 24-carat gold was trading at Rs 1,43,440 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was priced at Rs 1,31,450 per 10 grams. In Mumbai, the country’s financial capital, 24-carat gold was available at Rs 1,43,290 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at Rs 1,31,300 per 10 grams. In Ahmedabad, the retail price of 24-carat gold stood at Rs 1,43,340 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was priced at Rs 1,31,350 per 10 grams.

Apart from these major cities, gold prices in Chennai stood at Rs 1,43,290 per 10 grams for 24-carat gold and Rs 1,31,300 per 10 grams for 22-carat gold. In Kolkata, 24-carat gold was trading at Rs 1,43,290 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was priced at Rs 1,31,300 per 10 grams. In Bhopal, 24-carat gold was available at Rs 1,43,340 per 10 grams, whereas 22-carat gold was selling at Rs 1,31,350 per 10 grams.

In Jaipur, 24-carat gold was trading at Rs 1,43,440 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at Rs 1,31,450 per 10 grams. In Patna, 24-carat gold was priced at Rs 1,43,340 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold stood at Rs 1,31,350 per 10 grams. In the Lucknow bullion market, 24-carat gold was trading at Rs 1,43,440 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at Rs 1,31,450 per 10 grams.

Similar trends were witnessed in bullion markets across Karnataka, Telangana and Odisha. In the capitals of these states — Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Bhubaneswar — 24-carat gold was trading at Rs 1,43,290 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was available at Rs 1,31,300 per 10 grams.

Despite the short-term decline on a weekly basis, the latest surge in domestic gold prices reflects renewed momentum in the bullion market amid ongoing fluctuations in precious metal prices.
