Kamrup (Assam), 11 July (HS): Assam Agriculture Minister Pijush Hazarika on Saturday visited the Jajikona Seed Farm of Assam Seed Corporation Limited at Kamalpur, where he interacted with farmers and reviewed various agricultural activities. The minister discussed the production of quality seeds, the promotion of modern farming practices and measures to further strengthen the state's agriculture sector.

During the visit, Hazarika sought feedback from farmers on the challenges they face, ways to improve productivity and other issues related to agricultural development. He said farmers' experiences and suggestions play a vital role in shaping effective agricultural policies. The minister also stressed the importance of scientific farming, the use of high-quality seeds and the adoption of modern technologies.

Describing his interaction with farmers as an inspiring experience, Hazarika praised their contribution to Assam's agricultural growth, saying their hard work and participation remain the backbone of the sector. He expressed confidence that the upcoming agricultural season would bring a successful harvest and assured farmers of the state government's continued support in promoting improved farming practices and quality seed production.

The minister reiterated that the government's objective is to make agriculture more productive, sustainable and profitable, thereby enhancing farmers' income and accelerating the overall growth of the sector.

Local MLA Diganta Kalita was also present during the visit and interacted with farmers on various issues concerning agricultural development in the region. ------------
