Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday held a telephone conversation with the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al Sabah, during which the two leaders discussed the prevailing situation in West Asia.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, both leaders exchanged views on the growing tensions and evolving security situation in the region. Prime Minister Modi expressed deep concern over the escalation and reiterated India’s strong condemnation of attacks on Kuwait’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

He reaffirmed India’s consistent call for de-escalation and stressed that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable means to achieve the earliest restoration of peace and stability in West Asia.

During the conversation, Prime Minister Modi also conveyed appreciation to the Amir of Kuwait for his personal attention to the safety and welfare of the large Indian community residing in Kuwait.
