The IMD has also forecast strong surface winds with speeds occasionally reaching 40-50 kmph across the state. Fishermen have been advised to exercise caution while venturing into the sea due to rough weather conditions.
Authorities have cautioned that persistent heavy rainfall may lead to waterlogging in urban areas, flooding in low-lying regions, traffic congestion and reduced visibility on roads. The possibility of uprooted trees, falling branches, damage to vulnerable structures and temporary power disruptions has also been highlighted.
The weather department further warned that prolonged rainfall could trigger flash floods, mudslides and landslides in vulnerable hilly regions, urging residents in high-risk areas to remain vigilant and follow official advisories.
