Guwahati, 05 June (HS): Four members of a family, including two children, lost their lives in a devastating fire that broke out in the Jalukbari area of Guwahati on Friday early hours. The victims reportedly killed after being trapped inside their house as the blaze rapidly engulfed the premises.

According to initial reports, the deceased include the father, mother and their two children. All four were severely burnt in the incident and could not be rescued in time. The tragedy has sent shockwaves across the locality.

The fire also destroyed two residential houses, reducing them to ashes. Local residents and firefighters rushed to the spot and launched efforts to bring the flames under control, but the intensity of the blaze caused extensive damage.

Authorities have initiated an investigation to ascertain the cause of the fire. Further details are awaited as rescue and assessment operations continue in the affected area.-----------
