Simhachalam Temple Trust Board Approves 41 Development Proposals

Visakhapatnam, June 28 (HS): The trust board of the Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Devasthanam at Simhachalam on Saturday approved 41 development proposals aimed at strengthening the temple's infrastructure, administration and devotee facilities.

Goa Governor and hereditary trustee of the temple, P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju, offered prayers at the temple before chairing the trust board meeting.

Temple Executive Officer Jallepalli Venkata Rao placed 43 proposals before the board relating to the temple's administration and development. Of these, 41 proposals were approved, one was kept pending for further consideration and another was rejected.

The approved proposals are intended to improve temple infrastructure, strengthen administrative systems and enhance facilities for the large number of devotees visiting the shrine.

Earlier, the Governor was accorded a traditional welcome by the temple's Executive Officer and priests. Following temple customs, he embraced the sacred Kappa Sthambham and participated in special rituals. Priests performed Ashtottara Shatanamarchana in his name at the sanctum, following which he received Mangala Harathi at the shrine of Goddess Goda Devi.

At the Beda Mandapam, Vedic scholars blessed the Governor while Nadaswaram artistes presented devotional music. He also participated in the ceremonial sandalwood grinding for the Jyestha Pournami Chandanotsavam. Temple authorities presented him with the deity's sacred silk garments, a framed portrait of the presiding deity and prasadam.

Later, the Governor visited the Krishnapuram Goshala and paid floral tributes to the statue of his late father, Dr P. V. G. Raju.
