Grand gratitude ceremony and public meeting in Kolhapur

Kolhapur, 20 June (HS): In the presence of Union Home and

Cooperation Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, a grand

gratitude ceremony and public meeting took place today in Kolhapur.

Chief Minister Fadnavis said on this occasion that millions

of devotees come from across the country to have darshan of Karveer Niwasini

Shri Mahalakshmi (Ambabai) Mata. Union Home Minister and Cooperation Minister

Amit Shah was also insistent on the restoration of this important Shaktipeeth.

The inauguration of that work took place today. In history, when attacks were

being carried out on temples in the country, Punyashlok Rajmata Ahilyadevi

Holkar had revived the temples. Today, that same glorious tradition is being

carried forward under the leadership of the country's Prime Minister Narendra

Modi.

Chief Minister Fadnavis said that Prime Minister Narendra

Modi has given the mantra of ‘Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi’ and, taking it forward,

the work of reviving the Karveer Niwasini Shri Ambabai Temple—which is a symbol

of Maharashtra's heritage and culture—has been undertaken. Similar to this

temple, the development work of Shri Jyotiba Temple, another important

Shaktipeeth in Kolhapur, has also been taken up. Additionally, work on the

Pandharpur Corridor is also going to begin, and through this corridor, proper

arrangements will be made for the crores of warkaris and devotees who come for

darshan of Shri Vitthal Rukmini. Besides this, the government has undertaken the

development of pilgrimage sites for the five Jyotirlingas in Maharashtra, and

by rehabilitating the village at Bhimashankar, the development of that

pilgrimage area is being carried out. Chief Minister Fadnavis also said that

through this blueprint, the government has undertaken extensive work that will

provide services to devotees for the next hundred years.

Kolhapur is also known as the ‘Pandharpur of Cooperation.’

Chief Minister Fadnavis stated on this occasion that, under the leadership of

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and through the Ministry of Cooperation, important

schemes are being implemented to bring prosperity to the sugar industry.

On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde,

Minister Chandrakant Patil, Minister Shivendraraje Bhosale, Minister Adv.

Ashish Shelar, Minister Jaykumar Gore, Minister Prakash Abitkar, Minister of

State Madhuri Misal, MP Dhananjay Mahadik, MP Dhairyasheel Mane, MLA Ravindra

Chavan, Kolhapur's Mayor Ruparani Nikam, and other dignitaries were present.
