Sonitpur (Assam), 20 June (HS): Revolutionary artist and cultural icon Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha was remembered with deep reverence in Tezpur along with entire state on the occasion of Rabha Divas on Saturday. Various programmes featuring music and dance were organized to pay homage to the legendary figure, who passed away on this day in 1969.

As part of the observance, students of the Prahlad Chandra Das Memorial Dance School presented a cultural programme and offered tributes to the celebrated artist through dance performances. The event highlighted Kalaguru’s enduring contribution to Assamese art, culture and society while inspiring the younger generation to carry forward his legacy.

Meanwhile, at Samannay Kshetra, the memorial site of the cultural luminary in Tezpur, lamps were lit in his honour by his son and MLA Prithviraj Rabha, Sonitpur District Commissioner Anand Kumar Das and several other dignitaries. Young artists also paid tribute through songs and dance performances, celebrating the life and ideals of the revered Kalaguru.----------
